Nomination registration for the new leadership is scheduled today at the General Convention which was inaugurated at Narayani Bank on Friday.

The last central committee meeting of the ninth general convention of the CPN (UML) held in Sauraha on Friday night has decided to increase the number of office bearers in the central committee and also to form a politburo.

The number of office bearers and central committee members has been increased to select the leadership unanimously. The decision made by the Central Committee will be passed by the closed session which will begin shortly. Once approved by the closed session, it will take the form of legislation.

The meeting decided to increase the number of office bearers to 19 by adding two deputy general secretaries and two vice-presidents, said party office secretary and central member Sher Bahadur Tamang.

Earlier, the number of office bearers was 15. With the passage of this proposal, the number of UML Deputy General Secretaries has reached 3 and there will be 7 Vice Presidents.
