Nepal reports 513 new confirmed cases; 817 recoveries


KATHMANDU:- A total of 513 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in the country in the past 24 hours. This was revealed in 6,931 samples tested including 4,972 through RT-PCR and 1,959 Antigen tests, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

With this, the number of COVID-19 infected people reached 808,534.

Likewise, 817 infected ones recovered during the same period, taking the total number of recoveries to 786,630. The recovery rate stands at 97.2 percent.

Meanwhile, 8 people succumbed to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. With this, the death toll due to coronavirus reached 11,345 in the country. The case fatality rate is 1.4 percent.

Currently, the total number of active cases is 10,559.

Also today, altogether 63,074 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. So far, 15,203,585 doses of vaccine have been administered with 8,605,055 receiving the first dose and 6,598,530 receiving the full doses, the Ministry said.
