    Cop commits suicide

    MYAGDI: A police personnel committed suicide in Myagdi district last night. Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Dinesh Kumar Acharya, said Assistant Sub-inspector at Babiyachour Police Post, Yam Bahadur Lamichhane, 37, of Chilaunebas of Syangja district committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol.

    Other police personnel and neighbors had known about the incident only after hearing the sound of firing.

    It is said that Lamichhane was watching television until 11:00 pm.

    He died on the way to the District Hospital for further treatment. The dead body is kept at Myagdi District Hospital.

    Investigation into the case is underway, said DSP Acharya. RSS
