LAHAN:- People’s Socialist Party’s Federal Council Chairperson Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said constitution amendment is imperative to institutionalize democracy. Addressing a programme organized by the party at Dandatol of Golbazar Municipality-9 in Siraha district on Sunday, Chairperson Bhattarai pointed out the need of making the present constitution acceptable to all class, castes, regions, and genders.
Although democratic republic was established with the joint efforts of all political parties and people, democracy in real sense was still eluding, he said, arguing, “All ethnicities, religions, communities and genders must have proportional access to state authority. Proportional representation can be helpful to unite people from mountain, hills and plains, according to him.
Chairperson Bhattarai further said his party had aimed at establishing new federal system by amending the constitution. He exhorted the party cadres to make the party ace in the coming elections at local levels, province and federal parliaments.
