Congress establishment faction leader Baniya wins Bagmati Province President


N24 Correspondent, MAKWANPUR:- Indra Bahadur Bania of the establishment faction has been elected as the president of Nepali Congress Bagmati Province.

In the second phase of the election, the party has defeated the other party candidate Jagadishwar Narasingh KC by a margin of 158 votes.

Out of the total 2151 votes, 2025 votes were cast. In which Baniyan got 1085 votes while KC got 927 votes.

The second round of voting was held on Saturday after none of the three candidates contested the first round of the election and got 51 percent of the votes cast.

Bhimsen Das Pradhan, who withdrew from the first round of voting, had backed the establishment party.
