A meeting held between President of the Nepali Congress, Sushil Koirala, and leaders of the CPN-Maoist at Koirala’s residence in Maharajgunj, today reached the conclusion that a new leadership from this coalition government would not be acceptable.
After the meeting, Koirala said that both the parties have agreed that a national consensus government would not be forged under the leadership of the parties, which have joined Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, and to find out a new leadership for the new government from out of the ruling coalition.
Similarly, Secretary of the CPN-Maoist, Dev Gurung, said that both the parties have agreed that there was no alternative to launching agitation against the government as the Prime Minister had no mentality to exit from the power even if they talked for a consensus government.
Gurung said they discussed on being open to any alternative by both the parties for the leadership of the new government after the exit of the incumbent government.
Koirala from NC and Vice-Chairman CP Gajurel and Secretary Dev Gurung from CPN-Maoist were present in the meeting.
