BIRGUNJ: Minister for Information and Communications Raj Kishor Yadav has said that only the Constituent Assembly (CA) election is the best alternative to putting an end to the present political crisis in the country.
Speaking at a press meet organized by the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum ( Republic) in Birgunj today, Minister Yadav opined that there is no alternative to going for fresh elections as the people have decisive rights in democracy.
Underlining the need of promulgating a new constitution through the CA itself, Yadav said that political parties would reach to a consensus on holding fresh CA elections.
Promulgation of the new constitution through the CA was the common aspiration of the Madhesis, indigenous , nationalities , dalits and people from the suppressed and backward communities , he said, adding that CA formed through elections would take the country towards progress.
Political parties have no alternative other than to moving ahead on the basis of consensus, cooperation and unity to end existing constitutional and political crisis in the country, party’s Acting Chairman Yadav stressed the need of a package deal on disputes issues including constitution drafting process, election and formation of a coalition government.
“The President has urged the political parties for forming the consensus government, but the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) are not serious to that end,” said the communication minister.
According to Yadav, the extended meeting of the party scheduled to begin from today will focus on finding the best ways out to the current political confusion in the country. The meeting will also discuss on the party’s future course and policy on organisational strengthening of the party and political stalemate in the country, he said. RSS
