FAR WEST, NEPAL: Five Ward Chairpersons resigned collectively on Thursday stating that they have been excluded in the major decision making processes. On a collective attention letter, they express that the city major and deputy major have been unreasonably taking unilateral decisions by systematically excluding the opinion of Ward Chairpersons including the committee members. The Ward Chairperson of Badimala Municipality (located in Far Western Province) further expressed their dissent stating that such action is contrary to the prevailing laws, rules and policies of Nepal.
The resignation letter was submitted in the meeting of municipality by five chairpersons elected through Nepal Communist Party, expressing the unwillingness to continue as members of the development committee. The decision was collectively taken by; Municipal Education Committee Member Damber Bahadur Mahat, Employment Directive Committee Member Bir Bahadur Rawal, Revenue Advisory Committee Member Vinod Kumar BK, Municipal level Energy and Environment Committee Member Surendra Nath and Source Estimation and Boundary Determination Committee Member Dharma Raj Padhya.
