N24 Correspondent, KATHMANDU:- The Chinese government will provide 500,000 doses of vaccine to Nepal for the prevention and control of coronavirus.
China made the commitment during a telephone conversation between Foreign Minister Pradip Gyawali and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers had a phone conversation on Friday evening.
During the talks, Chinese Foreign Minister Yi said that Nepal would provide 500,000 doses of corona vaccine as a grant.
Foreign Minister Gyawali thanked the Chinese government for its support.
Although the Chinese vaccine has not yet been approved in Nepal, there are widespread concerns about the effectiveness of the Chinese vaccine.
Earlier, the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu had said that 300,000 doses of vaccine would be given to Nepal as a grant.
So far, the vaccine against corona made by China has not been allowed to be used in Nepal.
A study is underway to allow the Chinese vaccine, according to health ministry officials.
