N24 Staff Writer, KATHMANDU:- Chief of Army Staff Purnachandra Thapa met Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra on Monday. Chief of Army Staff Thapa had reached the Supreme Court to meet Chief Justice Rana. This meeting has been taken meaningfully in political circles.
It has been reported that General Thapa spent about an hour in the office of Chief Justice Rana. The House of Representatives is in the process of hearing the writ petition filed in the Supreme Court against the dissolution.
While the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court was preparing to give its verdict in a few days, Chief of Army Staff Thapa had an emergency meeting with the Chief Justice. However, a Supreme Court source said that the meeting between Chief Justice Rana and Chief of Army Staff Thapa was related to the issue of land.
The new building of the Supreme Court is being constructed on army land. The Chief Justice has summoned the Chief of Army Staff to discuss the acquisition and transfer of the land.
