BAGLUNG: Chief Justice (CJ) Khilaraj Regmi has said judiciary should be more responsible during the time of elongating transition in the country.
Hinting at the present political transition, Regmi said judiciary should move ahead to safeguard people’s rights.
Speaking at an interaction after monitoring Baglung District Court and Baglung Appellate Court on Sunday, CJ Regmi said impunity and social insecurity would rise and people’s fundamental rights could also be at risk in political and constitutional crises.
“The country is going through critical situation. Judiciary should be more responsible in such a situation,” the CJ added.
He said attorneys, police and legal practitioners should be equally responsible in justice delivery.
The CJ was of the opinion that present transition would end soon if the politics was on the track of national interests. He further said that judiciary would be weaker if the political parties become weaker. RSS
