Cheryl downs shots on stage before gig
LONDON: She’s already slated the pasty tax and over the weekend celebrated hitting No1 with a tequila slammer and Red Bull and vodka-fuelled night out. Cheryl performed at London’s G-A-Y club night at 1am on Sunday and luckily organisers had the salt and lime in.
They’d read my interview with her where she revealed she starts every night out with the spirit. Cheryl boasted: “I like to go in with a bang. All that sipping business takes too long.”
And now she’s put her money where her mouth is. A source said: “Organisers thought it would be funny to see if Cheryl was actually a tequila fan. So they brought it out on stage and made her down it before she performed.
“Cheryl was up for it. She was swearing during another new track, Screw You, and after the gig stayed in the club but switched from tequila to vodka and Red Bulls.
“She had Sunday off work so didn’t leave till 5am.” Cheryl had good reason to let her hair down. She’s scored the biggest hit of the year with Call My Name, selling 152,000 copies in a week.
Yesterday the Calvin Harris-produced song hit top spot as the year’s fastest-selling single. She’ll be hoping for similar success with third solo album, A Million Lights, out today.
Cheryl will put in a hard week of promo work to push it.Once she’s shaken the sore head.
