Chaudhary placed at 1,306th position on Forbes’ billionaire list

KATHMANDU: Nepali businessman Binod Chaudhary has made it to the Forbes’ billionaire list this year too.

 According to ‘The 2015 Billionaires List’ issued by the Forbes magazine on Tuesday, Chaudhary, who is also the President of the Chaudhary Group (CG), has been placed into the 1,306th position of richest people in the globe climbing 159th position position compare to last year. Last year Chaudhary was ranked at 1462nd position.

 According to Forbes, Chaudhary’s net worth is $1.3 billion this year. Last year his worth was $1.1 billion. His net worth increased by US$ 200 million compare to last year.

“After debuting on the Forbes billionaire ranks three years ago, Binod Chaudhary who built most of his fortune overseas remains Nepal´s only billionaire. His conglomerate, the Cinnovation/CG Group´s assets include a controlling stake in Nepal´s Nabil Bank, a fast growing foods business best known for instant noodle brand Wai Wai and a string of hotels in Asia and more recently, in Africa where in a joint venture with Uganda´s Mukwano group he´s building hotels in Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi,” reads the Forbs online.

 According to the Forbes, Bil Gates has been named once again as world’s richest man with worth $78.7 billion while Warren Buffett and Carlos Slim Helu & family have been placed into second and third position with $73.2 billion and $70.9 billion worth respectively.
