The meeting of the cabinet held on Friday decided to provide Rs. 500,000 to Chitra Prasad Wagle, Medical Superintendent working at the District Hospital in Arghakhanchi district for treatment.
Wagle, who had been deputed in the treatment of poor people in rural areas since long, has now been suffering from serious illness for the past few months.
Wagle was undergoing treatment at the New Delhi-based Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital and receiving Chemotherapy every 15 days but it has been halted due to the financial problems.
Earlier, Dr Wagle had met Peace Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and requested him for government;s financial support in treatment.
The meeting also decided to change the name of the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology as Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment.
