KATHMANDU:- Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula has said NC was in need of broader unity within the party. Only broader unity would ensure honesty in the party, he stressed.
Leader Sitaula said it at a programme organized in the context of 14th general convention of the party. “NC must be linked to general public. Not an individual (leader) centric but party centric policy must be adopted to restore NC’s charisma in national politics,” he said, adding that time had come for NC to assure people that politics was not for leaders but for them.
He also vowed that he would establish the leader near him via the 14th general convention. “I’ve taken this convention as the moment to respect the friends who have assisted me in crisis and need,” leader Sitaula reiterated.
On the occasion, NC central member and Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Umakant Chaudhari, said NC must be made stronger to end wrong trend plaguing the party for quite a while. Another central member Pradip Paudel and others said NC could take a lead in national politics if it adopted new thoughts as per changed context.
Similarly, newly elected President of NC at Province-1, Uddhav Thapa, believed that the 14th general convention would make the party further robust.
