KATHMANDU: The meeting of three major political parties called for today has been postponed. The meeting was expected to finalize the major bone of contention– peace process and constitution writing.
Standing committee member of UCPN (Maoist) Dev Gurung said the meeting was postponed owing to lack of internal preparations.
Gurung said the meeting is likely to hold on Friday by completing respective parties’ internal preparations.
As per the earlier meeting of the top leaders, Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ was given responsibility pertaining to peace process and army integration while Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala was assigned to forge consensus over the issue of formation of different commissions including truth and reconciliation and commission on disappearances.
Similarly, CPN (UML) leader Madhav Nepal was given responsibility to submit proposal on constitution-drafting. However, except Prachanda, other two leaders are yet to complete their respective responsibilities. RSS
