Bad weather forces chopper on forced landing


KATHMANDU: A helicopter bound for Kathmandu from Rukum carrying the injured people in a clash has made an emergency landing in Pyuthan due to adverse weather.

The 9N JP chopper of the Mountain Air made an emergency landing at 8:30 am today on a playground at Bijuwar-6.

A total of five people including two crew members were aboard the chopper. According to the District Police Office Pyuthan, drizzling rain and thick fog had disrupted the flight.

Three people- Kami Budha, Chandra Bahadur Budha and Jhalam Budha of Gumbatara-3 were hurt in a clash among the locals in Dolpa on Friday.  
It is learnt that the chopper halted at Rukum on Saturday, following bad weather.

The condition of the injured is said to be critical. The helicopter is expected to make its way to the Capital after improvement in the weather condition. RSS
