Two killed in Summit Air crash in Lukla, Nepal


KATHMANDU: Two people were killed and one was injured in a Summit Air plane met with an accident while taking-off from Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla, Mt Everest Transit point Nepal this morning. Plane crash was due to a collision between Manag air Helicopter and Summit Air plane.
The accident occurred as the Summit Air aircraft that was about to take off from the airport hit a parked helicopter at 9.20 am today, the Chief District Officer of Solukhumbu district, Narendra Kumar Rana, said.. Mt. Everest transit point Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla is the Number One Most Dangerous Airport in the World. The number of people were on board is not ascertained. Jeet Bahadur Karki, an eye-witness, said the airplane had caught fire immediately after hitting the chopper. Details of the incident are awaited.
