KATHMANDU: The 5th summit of Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) is taking place in the Nepal’s capital Kathmandu on coming April 25-26.
A total of 76 nations in the Asia-Pacific region are associated in the union. The regional event titled ‘5th ABU Media Summit Climate Action Disaster Preparedness’, will be organised coinciding the day (April 25, 2015) when a major earthquake struck Nepal, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology said in a press note.
The previous editions of summit were held in Indonesia, Thailand, Bangladesh and Fiji. Some 200 representatives including around 80 representatives from communications and information technology ministries from home and abroad and other organisations are taking part in the event which will witness altogether 14 sessions on several topics including climate change and disaster preparedness.
