Another alternative track along right bank of the River being constructed by the government, however, is yet to complete.

The 2.5 km-long stretch of the highway, the only road to connect Nepali Capital with northern neighbour China, was blocked by a massive landslide in Jure of Mankha VDC on August 2.

Sindhupalchok district chapter of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nepal Trans-Himalaya Border Commerce Association and Nepal Truck Container Business Association had started constructing the alternative track on August 16.

“Light vehicles can ply along the road one-way from tomorrow,” said Chief District Officer (CDO) Gopal Prasad Parajuli, “however, the renovation is still going on.”

Parajuli added that it takes some more days to operate two-way transportation along the track.

The track was constructed with the investment of Rs 7 million.
