Kollywood Actress Pooja Sharma is building a second house in Kathmandu with her own earnings
Except few, most Nepali entertainers can’t even afford to pay the room rent due to the remuneration they receive.
By Dikshya Tiwari, KATHMANDU: Before the release of the film ‘Prem Geet’ in 2016, actress Pooja Sharma was known only by exceptions. Prior to this film, she had acted in ‘Three Lovers’, ‘Madhumas’, and ‘Chankhe Shankhe Pankhe’. However, none of these films could identify her as an actress.
The film ‘Prem Geet’ directed by Sudarshan Thapa proved to be a turning point in her career.
Actress Pooja, who managed to introduce herself to a large audience through this film, didn’t have to look back on her past. After the success of the film ‘Ma Yesto Geet Gauxu 2’, she reached the peak of her career and is now one of the most demanded and expensive actresses in Kollywood. The producer and director believe that her face sells the film.
Pooja, who did not make films outside Sudarshan Camp after ‘Prem Geet’, has been working in films under foreign banners for a year and a half. In ‘Poi Paryo Kale’, she is said to have earned Rs 2 million. Similarly, Rs 1.5 million in ‘Samhalinchha Kahile Man’, Rs 2 million in ‘Samjhana Birsana’ and Rs 2.5 million in ‘Man Paresi’, as per rumors.
Before ‘Ram Kahani’, Pooja did not act in more than one film a year. Whereas, now she doesn’t even leave a single project offered on her hand. Why? Many want to know the reason for it. It is learned that she is currently constructing a second house in Ekantakuna, Lalitpur. The construction work of her house has not been stopped even during the lockdown. She is about to build a three-story house.
On Tuesday, Pooja shared a video of the house building on Instagram Story. It is said that she is planning to move to a new house within a ‘Dashain’ festival. There is a rumor that she has been working on an external banner film to built a house. However, Pooja has not opened her mouth on this issue. She says that she used to work in the film because she liked the script.
Except few, most Nepali entertainers can’t even afford to pay the room rent due to the remuneration they receive. This is the reason why many have fled without seeing a secure career in the film industry. There are very few actors in Kathmandu who can earn a living by acting. It is a matter of happiness that Pooja is building a second home in Kathmandu with her earnings
