‘Aama’ director Khanal in preparation of new film.
KATHMANDU: Director Dipendra K. Khanal is considered to be an expert in presenting social issues in a pleasing manner.That is why the film directed by him gets the praise of the audience and critics. He is also a skilled cinematographer who has proved himself in both commercial and art films. His filming in two movies ‘Aama’ and ‘Dhanapati’ was very much appreciated.
After the film ‘Pashupati Prasad’, he was accused of distorting his rhythm while running after local concept. From the movie ‘Aama’ which was released last year, he has brought himself back on track. Although the film did not do well at the box office, it was considered the best film of the year. In it, his directing skills were praised freely.
As the collection graph of ‘Aama’ was rising, lockdown started in the country. After this, director Khanal, who was confined to his home, is currently writing a script for a new film. “I’ve almost made a blueprint. But, you have to connect by doing a little research. For that, you have to go out and search. I am doing as much as I can in Kathmandu, ”said Director Khanal.
He said that the new film will also be based on social issues. He further said that in “Aama” and “Pashupati Prasad” the important things or events of that time should have been told to the society, the same will come in the new film. So far, so good. There is also the challenge of making it better than ‘Aama’. So I’m working hard on the script. “
The film, which will start shooting in ‘Dashain’, will be produced by Sharmila Pandey. She started working professionally with director Khanal from the film ‘Love Love Love’ and says that she is going to make a new film after the incident that happened in the society again. She says that she will try to make a better film than ‘Aama’ as the viewers expect social story films from her team.
