A petition with claim amount of 250 million Rupees filed against 8 Hundi Traders in Birgunj

The hundi traders have been charged under the crime against Bank and Financial Institution as well as Organized Crime

KATHMANDU: A Petition has been filed against 8 hundi traders claiming the amount of quarter of a billion Nepali Rupees. They were arrested on 24th of June with cash amounting Nrs. 4,200,000 and silver weighing 2,090 (grams) from a jewelry shop named KP Swarnakar Kendra Jewelers located in Birjung Municipality.

The hundi traders have been petitioned with the claimed amount by Parsa District Police Office after investigation. The office says the owner of the jewelry shop has absconded and still being searched.

The hundi traders have been found to have transacted amount equivalent to over 1 billion (Rs. 1,284,239,723).  They have been charged under the crime against Bank and Financial Institution as well as organized crime.
