N24 Correspondent, KATHMANDU:- The government has brought 800,000 doses of corona vaccine from China to Nepal.
Eight lakh doses of Verosel were brought from Nepal Airlines’ widebody ship on Friday morning.
The government of Nepal had signed an agreement with a Chinese synopharm company to purchase 4 million vaccines. According to the agreement, the first batch of the Verosell vaccines was brought to Kathmandu on Friday morning.
The head of the vaccination branch of the health service department, Dr. Jhalak Sharma Gautam said that eight lakh doses of the Verosel vaccine have been brought today and the remaining vaccines will be brought by additional flights.
The widebody ship left for the Chinese capital, Beijing, on Thursday evening to deliver the first batch of vaccines. The Ministry of Health and Population has stated that the vaccine will be brought to Nepal through three flights by July 25.
The ministry is preparing to give this vaccine to the age group below 60 years on a priority basis.
