KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Tuesday filed a corruption case at the Special Court against four officials of a community school in Sarlahi district.
Issuing a press statement, the Commission said Chairperson of the School Management Committee Ajay Kumar Yadav , Principal Arvind Kumar Yadav, Resource Person Bhogendra Kumar Yadav and bank account operator Anju Devi Yadav of Chamelimai Community Primary School, Salempur-5, Sarlahi were booked for misappropriating government budget allocated for scholarship for disadvantaged group, course books and non-salary expenses from Fiscal Year 2009/10 to 2013/14.
The anti-corruption constitutional body said they embezzled Rs 2.37 million meant for various purposes of the school.
Claiming that the four acted against section 17 of Anti-Corruption Act, 2002, the CIAA demanded a maximum punishment as per Section 3(1) of the Act.
If the case is proved, the accused also should return the embezzled amount.
