This second track was constructed by the government deploying Nepal Army (NA).
“We are expanding the road and the vehicular movement will start from Wednesday” said Gopal Prasad Parajuli, Sindhupalchok Chief District Officer.
The 2.5 km-long stretch of the Araniko Highway, the only road to connect Nepali Capital with northern neighbour China, was blocked by a massive landslide in Jure of Mankha VDC on August 2.
At least 14 VDCs of the district were also rid of road connections with the other villages of the district and the Capital.
Nepal Army had began the work for the Lamosanghu-Sunkoshi Dam-Dhuskun-Sunkoshi track on August 12.
The fatal landslide that killed at least 156 persons had blocked the Araniko Highway along with the Sunkoshi River, creating a 50 metre deep and 3 km long artificial lake.
