KATHMANDU: Two men were arrested from Bouddha for allegedly possessing the Red Sandalwood, as known as Raktachandan.
Nagendra Chand, Chief of Metropolitan Police Circle, Bauddha confirmed that the duo was confiscated with 83 kg of Red Sandalwood.The accused are identified to be Khemba Lama (60) and Norbum Tamang (20) from Mugu District.
Police said that it was possible to track the duo with the help of information provided by the secret sources. Police has been keeping a watchful eye on the people carrying suspicious items.
Red Sandalwood is expensive and smuggled in local and international market for several medical purposes or as a flavor agent of alcoholic beverages.
