13th SAG: India on top of table with 58 gold medals, Nepal ranked second
KATHMANDU: India has stood atop the medal tally, with a total of 118 medals, as the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) has come mid-way.
In the mega regional sports event being held in Kathmandu and two other venues (Pokhara and Janakpur) since December 1, India has so far won 58 gold medals, 41 silver and 19 bronze.
Host country Nepal stands second in the medal tally with 96 medals comprising 36 gold, 26 silver and 34 bronze. Sri Lanka has the third highest medals with 16 gold, 31 silver and 52 bronze.
Pakistan is in the fourth position with 12 gold medals, 21 silver and 22 bronze while Bangladesh is ranked fifth in the medal tally with 4 gold medals, 10 silver and 40 bronze.
Maldives has secured sixth position with one gold medal, two bronze while Bhutan is at the bottom of the medal tally with ranked with only 6 bronze medals.
