1,356 new cases of COVID-19 registered on Tuesday

KATHMANDU:- A total of 1,356 new cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the country while conducting PCR tests on 11,154 individuals in the past 24 hours. A total of 647 individuals were found infected in Kathmandu valley alone. Of them, 511 are in Kathmandu, 73 in Lalitpur and 63 in Bhaktapur districts in the valley.
In the regular press briefing at the Ministry of Health and Population, Spokesperson Dr Jageshwar Gautam shared that a total of 18,142 are enlisted as active cases of corona virus in the country. With this, the total number of infected has reached 66,632 in the country as of today.
Dr Gautam further shared that, 832 have returned home after complete health recovery from across the country in past 24 hours. With this, the total recoveries till today is 48,061. According to Ministry, 223 individuals are undergoing treatment in ICU while 37 are under ventilator support. Gautam added that 7,171 people are in quarantines in the country till today.
Dr Gautam added that Solukhumbu,, Rasuwa, Mustang, Myagdi, Dolpa, Mugu and Humla districts have no single case of corona virus. Similarly, Morang, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Makawanpur, Bhaktapur Chitwan and Rupandehi districts have over 500 cases of the virus.
According to Gautam, the death toll caused by the virus infection has reached 429 with two deaths in the past 24 hours.
