1,207 coronavirus infection cases, including 724 in Ktm Valley, found today
KATHMANDU:- A total 1,207 cases of coronavirus infection including 724 in the capital city were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said today.
Ministry’s Spokesperson Prof Dr Jageshwor Gautam in a daily press briefing today said that of the 10,019 tests conducted, the virus was tested positive on 796 men and 411 women. With this, the coronavirus tally reached 71,821 in the country.
According to the Ministry, Kathmandu recorded 583 new cases, Lalitpur 78 new cases and Bhaktapur 63 new cases today.
All three districts of Kathmandu valley have more than 500 active cases each. Likewise, Morang and Rupandehi recorded 78 and 73 cases, respectively.
Dr Gautam shared that Morang, Siraha, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan and Rupandehi have more than 500 active cases each while Rasuwa, Manang, Mustang, Dolpa, Mugu and Humla have no reported case.
Similarly, altogether 1,147 individuals were recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate is 73.8 per cent.
As 53,013 people were recovered from the virus, the total number of active case stands at 18,341.
Likewise, 10,508 people are in home isolation and 7,833 others are in institutional isolation.
Dr Gautam said that 6,331 others are in quarantine facilities.
The Ministry also said that the number of critical cases has increased in the recent days adding that 244 are receiving treatment in ICU and 27 are in ventilators for the treatment.
According to the Ministry, eight men died of the virus in the past 24 hours across the country. Of them, three are from Kathmandu and one each from Saptari, Bhaktapur, Makawanpur, Lalitpur, Rupandehi and Kailali.
So far, 467 people succumbed to the virus in the country.
