11 dead, 20 injured in Dhading bus accident


KATHMANDU: 11 passengers lost their lives and 20 others were seriously injured when a passenger bus enrolee to Kathmandu from Butwal reeled off the road in Dhading on Tuesday morning.

Of the dead 10 died on the spot while another succumbed on the way to Hospital in Kathmandu. The reason behind the accident remained unknown the bus skidded off the road and fell some 150 meters down at Mahesh Khola of Simle in Dhading district along the Prithivi Highway.

The injured are receiving treatment at Sahid Memorial Hospital in Kathmandu and Star Hospital in Lalitpur.

Rescue team comprising of locals and police has identified seven of the dead and they are:

Phanindra Subedi, from Manpakadi 4, Rupandehi

Balram Chowdhary from Kopuwa-4, Kapilvastu

Mohan Nagarkoti, from Rudrapur-2, Rupandehi

Parwati Gharti Magar, from Tamghas-3, Gulmi

Sushila Magar, from Butwal

Ranjan Thapa, from Pokhara 6, Kaski

Sher Bahadur Thapa, from Rupandehi.

Four others are yet to be identified.
